Back to blogging
I quit blogging for a while. I got burned out trying to post something new every day, mostly. And I ended up with this huge mess of unorganized posts over the course of like two years because I was figuring it out as I went, on a platform I didn't really like.
But now I'm back, I think.
I feel like I originally jumped into the blogosphere at a time when a lot of people were just starting to get tired of corporate social media. It felt like this great escape from the enshittified internet we were all too distracted to realize was taking shape over the years. Now I'm seeing posts everywhere about how blogging and smaller social media sites are making a comeback. I like that.
I think I originally had this idea of "making it" as a blogger eventually, like Kottke. After stepping back for the better part of a year I'm realizing I don't give a shit about that. Honestly, in general, I think I'm losing my need to feed any kind of ego. I don't care about being cool. I mean shit, if that's what I wanted, I don't think running a personal blog is the way 😅
